What Is Billboard Printing?

Billboard printing is the most visible and impactful format of outdoor advertising. A standard billboard is produced at 3.5x2 meters, a racket panel at 1.5x1 meters, a megaboard at 12x6 meters, and in larger sizes. Positioned along intercity roadsides, on main boulevards, and at the entry points of organized industrial zones, billboards are seen by thousands of people daily. The Techno Reklam workshop both applies printing to existing billboard infrastructure and produces custom billboard systems.

Technical Details

In billboard printing, the standard surface is 510 g/m² block-out banner or 440 g/m² mesh banner. While single-piece printing is preferred for a standard panel (3.5x2 m), megaboards are printed in 4–8 pieces and joined on site with heat-welded seams. In color management, Pantone matching is critically important; color matching is done before printing to ensure the brand color. Solvent ink is preferred because it provides color-guaranteed durability of 3–5 years under the sun. After printing, plastic or metal eyelets are fitted to the edges, making it easier to tension and secure the print to the panel infrastructure.

The areas where billboard printing is most often preferred are brand campaigns along intercity roadsides, large promotional facade prints for shopping malls, opening campaigns, seasonal discount announcements, corporate brand-awareness campaigns, event and festival promotions, and political and social campaigns. For brands running two different campaigns per month on the same infrastructure, print renewal is routine work for us.
