What Is Laser Cutting?

Laser cutting is the process of precisely cutting metal sheet with an intense laser beam. In signage production it is preferred for the back body of channel letters, stainless logo forms, decorative metal covers and precision engineering parts. In the Techno Reklam workshop, our fiber laser machine can precisely cut stainless steel from 0.3 mm to 8 mm; mild steel from 0.3 mm to 12 mm; and aluminum from 0.3 mm to 6 mm. The standard table size is 3000x1500 mm.

Technical Details

Compared with a traditional CO2 laser, a fiber laser is both faster and lower in electricity consumption. The laser beam focuses on the material to generate heat, the molten metal is blown away with pressurized nitrogen or oxygen, and a clean cut is achieved. In stainless steel cutting, nitrogen is used; this way the cut edge does not oxidize and looks polished. With carbon steel, the use of oxygen increases the cutting speed. In our workshop, the cutting speed can reach up to 25 m/min for 0.3 mm stainless; this is far more efficient than classic plasma cutting. Our corner tolerance value is ±0.05 mm.
